Golden Gate Park Engagement
When Peter reached out to me and asked if I would make the drive to San Francisco to photograph him proposing to his love Alia, I more than happily accepted!! Being there for this life milestone is was so exciting. I had the best time capturing their engagement day!
All that being said, capturing a surprise engagement presents a bit of a challenge for a photographer. There was the coordinating about the specific location at the lovely (but huge!) Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, getting the timing right, advising the Peter on how to best position Alia toward the camera, the bright lighting that I had no control over... and did I mention I had to hide in bushes!?! Ha! When I saw that Alia was not exactly facing the camera, I sprinted down the hill to try to get closer and capture the moment. All of these elements made no difference to the couple in their blissful moment, but from a photographer's perspective, I wanted it to be just right. I'm always up for any challenge!
Peter asked Alia to marry him and of course she said, "Yes!" Peter gave Alia his grandmother's diamond ring that he had been saving for this special day. Following the proposal, I got to follow these two love birds around for a while, snapping away while they enjoyed each other as newly engaged. Such a meaningful that day I will never forget! Oh and.... I get to photograph their wedding this upcoming fall! Stay tuned!
